This proposal was developed for the ideas competition for the new Arquia bank office in Girona. Arquia acquired a property in the city hall square. This building contained different architecture elements with historical and heritage value. It was a priority for us to preserve and enhance them.
The proposal of the new Arquia office in Girona is based in 3 actions:
1. Connect the rooms in the ground floor by opening the dividing walls and both floors by creating a new vertical connection.
2. Enhance the existing building by restoring and showing the repaired masonry walls and by designing spaces from where these architecture and historical elements are visible.
3. Insert the new furniture specifically designed for an optimal performance of the building as a bank office.
